Spooky doesn't have to mean scary. Here's our go-to Halloween palette and styling ideas for porches, parties, and everything in between.
Halloween is one of the few holidays where South Florida's warm weather actually helps — porches stay open, front yards stay full of trick-or-treaters, and outdoor balloon decor gets a long, warm evening to be seen. Here's how we approach it.
Halloween, South Florida Style
No fallen leaves, no chilly night air — but that hasn't stopped Halloween from being one of our busiest weeks. Between front-porch displays for trick-or-treaters, kids' costume parties, and office Halloween days, the holiday shows up everywhere from Boca to Port St. Lucie.
The Halloween Palette We Reach For
Our go-to Halloween combination:
- Black as the anchor
- Orange for the classic Halloween pop
- Chrome Purple for a little drama
- White or Cream to keep it from reading too dark
Swap in Emerald Green or Chrome Gold for a "witchy glam" feel instead of the classic orange-and-black, or lean all-white and black for an elevated, almost gothic-chic look that still photographs beautifully at a grown-up party.
Spooky-Cute vs. Spooky-Elegant
Most of our Halloween clients land in one of two lanes. Spooky-cute means round orange and black balloons, a few ghost or pumpkin accents, and a playful garland — perfect for a kids' party or a family-friendly porch. Spooky-elegant trades the pumpkins for a moody black-and-chrome-purple organic garland or arch — the look for an adult Halloween party or a styled office lobby.
Front Porch & Entry Styling
A balloon garland framing the front door is one of our most-booked Halloween installs — it turns a single house into the trick-or-treat stop everyone remembers, and it holds up fine through a warm South Florida evening.
Indoor Party Backdrops
For an indoor costume party, a balloon backdrop behind the dessert table or a photo corner gives guests (and their costumes) a built-in photo moment — see our dessert table styling guide for how we pair balloon decor with the sweets table.
Office & Storefront Halloween Displays
Plenty of South Florida offices and shops do a Halloween day or a trunk-or-treat in the parking lot — a balloon arch at the entrance or a themed display in the window is an easy, high-visibility way to join in without much lift on your end.
